Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026

QuitSmoking (“the app”) is developed by Onat Çakır (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it's used, and the choices you have. We built QuitSmoking to run almost entirely on your device, so there's very little to explain — but here it is in full.

What we collect

The information you enter directly: your quit date and time, how many cigarettes you smoked per day, how many cigarettes are in a pack, pack prices and the date each price took effect, how long it takes you to smoke one cigarette, your preferred currency, and your appearance choices (theme, accent color). The app also stores the achievements you unlock and, if you start over, a record of your previous attempt. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information, and there is no account or sign-up.

How your data is stored

All of this data lives on your device, using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you're signed in to iCloud, the same data syncs privately to your other devices through Apple's CloudKit, inside your personal iCloud account. We never see this data ourselves — QuitSmoking has no server, no database, and no backend of any kind. Apple's own privacy practices govern how your iCloud data is protected in transit and at rest; see Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy for details.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, QuitSmoking can send you a local alert when you unlock an achievement, and an optional weekly motivation reminder every Monday. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device — no push notification service or third party is involved, and you can turn either type off at any time in Settings.

Analytics, ads, and third parties

QuitSmoking contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind. We don't know how often you open the app, which screens you visit, or anything else about your usage. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party, because it never leaves Apple's ecosystem in the first place.

Your choices and rights

You can review, change, or delete any of your information at any time from within the app. Using “I smoked, start over” archives your current data as a previous attempt and lets you begin again; deleting the app removes its local data from your device, and turning off iCloud sync for the app (or deleting the app data from your iCloud settings) removes it from Apple's servers as well.

Children's privacy

QuitSmoking is not directed at children and is not intended to collect information from anyone who does not meet the minimum age required by the App Store in their country.

Health disclaimer

QuitSmoking is a personal tracking and motivation tool. It does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for guidance from a doctor or other qualified healthcare provider, particularly regarding nicotine addiction or withdrawal.
